International Symposium on Contemporary American Studies in Multicultural Context

American Studies Center at Sichuan University and School of Foreign Languages at Guiyang University cordially invite scholars from all disciplines toparticipate in the International Symposium on Contemporary American Studies in Multicultural Context to be held on June 10 - 12, 2016 at Guizhou University, Guiyang, China.
American Studies Center at Sichuan University has laid its research focus on American Southwest studies and the comparative studies on American and Chinese Southwest regions since it became a National Research Base granted by the Ministry of Education in June 2012. Being both located in the Southwest part of China, Sichuan University and Guizhou University share many common interests in regional and multicultural studies. The collaboration between Sichuan University and Guizhou University has long been establishedand will be highly enlarged by this coming symposium.

Cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives are particularly welcome since the topics themselves stretch across several disciplines.
Guidelines for Paper Submission
You are encouraged to submit a proposal by April 1, 2016, using the attached Paper Proposal,which should contain your contact information, title, keywords, and an abstract of 300-500 words. The Organizing Committee will evaluate the proposal on the basis of relevance to the conference theme and notify you of its acceptance by April 10, 2016. If you are notified that your proposal has been accepted, please send the full text of your paper (about 5,000 words in English) by June 1, 2016.

Papers, once accepted, will be organized into concurrent panels. Each presentation is to be approximately 15 minutes long, followed by questions and discussion. American scholars may also be asked to meet with graduate student participants at the conference. American scholars who are able to stay longer after the conference may join Guizhou University colleagues for classes, lectures and academic discussions. Sichuan University also welcomes the scholars who are available to give lectures in Chengdu.
The registration fee of 800 RMB (approximately $120) covers meals, conference program, and admission to all sessions.
A preferential rate will be offered to all conference participants at the campus hotel of Guizhou University. More information will be provided at the time of notification of paper acceptance.
